Company
In 1999, Secure Connections LLC, parent company
of FINDER™ Products, launched development of a
telecommunications-based, lost and found
solution to help school systems quickly
reconnect with children separated from off-site
groups (field trips, etc.). The
challenge was to devise a cost-effective system
that was easy to understand and use.
With a background in pre-paid switching
technology, the McLean, Virginia company created a
new telecom methodology utilizing proprietary
versions of commonly used calling features: a secure
speed dial set up and a one-way private voice mail
box, built into a unique toll-free calling platform.
This unique calling platform, which the Company
received a patent on, become known as the FINDER™
Lost & Found System.
The Company’s first lost and found solution was
marketed to institutions as KidCallAlert®… a safety
system that is still used to protect thousands of
children in school systems, camps, early childhood
and special needs programs around the country.
It was clear from the beginning of development
that, with certain changes the communication
platform had other applications that would allow it
to be adapted for use as a completely unique Lost &
Found solution. Based in part upon the same safety
concerns that apply to a lost child, the American
Humane Association approached the company with a
request that they develop a “better” ID tag for
pets.
In 2004 under the name FINDER™ products™ the
company launched petFINDER™, a solution so effective…it makes
traditional ID tags obsolete!
The FINDER™ software platform is installed on
pre-paid switches hosted by World Touch, Inc.
located in Seattle, Washington and part of the
Marathon Communications Group.
Licensed by the Washington State Utility
Commission and the FCC, WTI has produced over
120,000,000 pre-paid PINS and currently hosts over
13 million pre-paid card applications annually. |
